                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 9455
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED NORTHWEST FROM LONG STREET, BETWEEN
                   WEST MAIN STREET AND WEST 16TH STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, UPON CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located northwest from Long Street, 
between
         West Main Street and West 16th Street, more particularly 
described
         herein, and as shown on the plat attached hereto and made a 
part
         hereof by reference:
               
                Elder Place, a 10 foot wide alleyway beginning on
                the northwest line of Long Street some 140 feet
                southwest of the intersection of the northwest line
                of Long Street with the southwest line of Main
                Street, and extending northwest 120 feet between
                parallel lines.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
         and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
        
                1. The City of Chattanooga reserves an easement the
                   width of said right-of-way for maintaining a
                   sewer located within said right-of-way.

              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
